Traditionally, the goal of Yoga is union with the Absolute or the true self. Today, most Yoga practices in the West focus on physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation. The practical benefits of Yoga include improved physical fitness, mental clarity, stress control and general well being. The beauty of Yoga is its versatility: you can choose to focus on the psychological, physical or spiritual, or a combination of the three.

The study of yoga can begin at any age. You are never too old, too tight, too overweight, too unfit, too ill, too injured or too pregnant to enjoy and benefit from yoga. At ABC there is a yoga class and teacher for each individual. The classes at ABC are designed to build strength and flexibility and to inspire peace and tranquility. There are many styles of yoga to choose from and many different yoga instructor personalities to experience. Take care to try different yoga instructors or styles to find the best fit for you.

You may choose to study yoga in a group or private setting. You may like the attention, time flexibility and assistance you get from a private session; or you may benefit from the sense of community, habitual nature and connectedness of a yoga class.
